Snickers

We had the honor of bringing Salem Elementary's school pet home for a few days!! Snickers is a Guinea Pig and loves to eat!! He was very easy to take care---not so easy was keeping Matty away from him!! Of course the question I had been waiting for "can we get one" happened 5 minutes after Snickers arrived : ) Maybe someday but as for now Snickers is safe and sound back at home at Salem Elementary.
Awwww, Snickers. So cute and he made a "funny squeaking noise"
Snicker's arch nemesis.....giant baby. Good thing Spider man was there to help!!
The villain trying to get into the cage

Spider-Man, Spider-Man, Does Whatever a Spider-Can

Have no fear citizens of Apex NC Target. That's just your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man!! We have entered into Spider Man phase which pretty much consists of wearing a too-small Spidey outfit everywhere we go, shooting webs out of our wrists, and jumping around doing spidey moves!!! So fun to be 3!!! Folks at Target thought he was quite hilarious.

A Trip to the Dentist

Although there are not any pictures to this post I had to record this so I would remember when they're older.
Most of us hate going to the dentist....me included. But when your treated the way we are at our dentist, the kids can't help but be excited. Here is the conversation that took place the day we were going.

Me: "Hey guys, you have dentist appts. today....I'll pick you up from school early.

R and J: Yayayayaya!!!!! (Jumping up and down up and down)

weird....I know.....
later upon pulling into the parking lot....

R: "I want to go first"
J: "No I want to go first"
Me: Why don't you guys play rock, paper, scissors

Jacob won......

R: Oh man......
J: Ok, Rachel, you can go first......
R: Thanks Jacob!! (super excited)

I thought that was funny but the funniest part was when we started walking up to the office and our dental hygienist was waiting in the waiting room for us with a big smile and a wave. She COULDN'T wait to see the kids!!! Then, in the 40 minutes we were there.....The receptionist and Nathan's hygienist had to stop in to "see the kids".

As I went in yesterday to have my appointment without the kids I got a big bright "Hello!" and then a .......oh, where are the kids? (sad face, sad face, sad face).

Just thought I would share.....one of the proudest/funniest moments for Nathan and I as parents!!!

Happy Birthday Matty!!

Matty McGoo......what can we say? He has been the perfect addition to our family. He's our little snuggly guy and loves to come put his head on your shoulder. He is absolutely adored by his older siblings!!! That being said, he is the true "baby" of the family. Carried around and spoiled by everyone!!! He is a sweet little guy and has started to voice his opinion a bit more. If you don't give him what he wants to eat, he just throws it all on the floor with one swipe of his arm.  He is determined to keep up with his older siblings even if it means taking a walk on the wild side (pushing the door open and crawling out on the front porch without mom knowing for instance.....just an example....that never happened.......or not more than once.....).
Matty has a smile that brightens up everyone's day and knows just when you need a snuggle. We love you Matty!!! Happy First Birthday!!!

Matty with his pouty face because we put him in his seat

Oh ok.....I guess I could sit here and eat this

Working on his "walking skillz"

Helping me with laundry....."helping" is a very loose term here : )

Happy Third Birthday Andrew!!!

What a bucket full of laughs and joy Andrew is!! He keeps us on our toes more than any of the others, that's for sure!! He is extremely expressive and loves to make everyone laugh. I can just see a class clown in the making!!  Drew loves to play with Rachel and Jacob and is always asking when "the kids are going to be home". He adores his little brother and has truly become a great big brother to him. He loves to play soccer, firetrucks, and Spiderman. He hates haircuts and vegetables.  He can't wait to start preschool in the Fall!!! Andrew has been such a blessing in our life. He makes us (and his siblings) laugh on a daily basis. Happy Birthday to our feisty little man!!! We love you so much!!!

Day One of Trip....Sea World!!

Getting ready for the Dolphin show.
We survived!!!!! Not only that but we had a great time!! And amazingly enough we didn't even lose any kids. We had 4 kids, and two adults.....do the math.....odds are we were going to lose at least one.

Our trip started out with a trip to good ole' Chapel Hill Pediatrics because the boys had all had fevers/cough for a few days. We figured we might as well get them checked out before we left. Well, what's a trip without 8 bottles of antibiotics? Not a fun one, that's for sure!!! Everyone had pneumonia....yay! Because going to the busiest happiest place on earth isn't tricky enough without a case (or five...yes Nathan had it too) of pneumonia.

Luckily, everyone was in great spirits and we were all so excited to get to Disney, the kids were unbelievably awesome on the drive.

First stop.....SEA WORLD!
Sea World wasn't that busy as you can see!!
Yes folks, this is pretty much how I spent my vacation

The boys found the perfect play structure while waiting for lunch

Drew and Jacob

I love this, they are sooooo excited to have icecream

Poor Andrew climbed onto a train and it broke down before he could even ride it!! He was such a trooper and enjoyed this carousel just as much!!

This guy was so cool. He came right up to the glass and was following the kids around

Dolphins always amazing. So cool to watch them play. By far, Rachel's favorite

I think Rachel's face says it all.

Day 2 Magic Kingdom

Magic Kingdom
Everyone was feeling much better by Tuesday and we had a beautiful day at the Magic Kingdom.
There is sooooooo much to do so you really need two days to do it all but we hit on everything we wanted to and even caught the parade as we were leaving. We fought the Evil Zurg with Buzz Lightyear, screamed through conquered Space Mountain,  cried on   survived Pirates of the Caribbean, and climbed the most amazing Swiss Family Robinson Tree house. We went Under the Sea and met Ariel too!  Oh and we can't forget (no really, we can't forget because the song is still in our head) It's a Small World which the kids loved!! I think the funniest part of the day was when Rachel and Jacob found some ducks to feed.....it was by far one of the highlights of the trip! Surrounded by all this entertainment and feeding the wild ducks topped the list : )

Entering the Gates

Casey at the Bat!! How cool!

Before Space Mountain.....which Rachel didn't exactly enjoy.  I think her exact words were  "never again"

Love this Picture. Ariel told Rachel how excited she was to see that Rachel had a dolphin necklace and she would definitely tell her "dolphin friends"

I know it's blurry but look how excited he is!!!
"It's a Small World After All"
Your welcome : )

Evil Zurg
We got to meet Captain Jack Sparrow!!
Told you folks....me in the stroller

"Here Rachel, let me try....."

"Ok, you can help...."

"ah well, guess neither of us will be the King of England today"

Swiss Family Robinson Tree house.....awesome!
